An exciting thing happened at Maplewood this summer!! The Drama and Music Ministries joined forces to produce the Broadway musical, "GODSPELL" in our church sanctuary on Friday, June 13 and Saturday, June 14!!
The two shows brought together Maplewood members and many talented friends from our community. The production culminated months of planing and weeks of rehearsals. Both performances were nearly 'sold out', while a few folks purchased tickets and attended the Thursday Dress Rehearsal, since they couldn't make either the Friday or Saturday shows. Reflections on the show ... To Sue Kramer and Godspell cast, A word of appreciation for an awesome performance of Godspell last night. We were on the front row and I assure you all of us were highly involved. Our grandchildren, Brannon, age 11, and Reid Ann, age 9, were singing some of the songs on the way home. In fact, we had to buy a copy of the Godspell music today, so you all cast a real spell on them. As a fan of drama, you all did a fantastic job-singing, acting and the music was spectacular. Everyone played such outstanding roles, but "Jesus" was so well done. Reid Ann, age 9, was in tears at the farewells of the Last Supper and it was such a real, moving scene. So glad you told us about it - and we hope you have a repeat performance there or somewhere else. I look forward to supplying the pulpit at Maplewood in July. With gratitude, Dick Morgan
