Winter Youth Retreat
Pine Springs Camp - January 13-15, 2012

The Winter Retreat was also a huge success. There were 15 youth and 5 adults that went on the retreat to Pine Springs. The weekend was filled with silly contests, games, lots of food, a great movie and devotions by Pastor Steve. We were blessed with snow which enabled us to go snow tubing on Saturday! The “silly contests” were a lot of fun! The youth had to dig in a bowl of chocolate pudding and lots of whipped cream to find three gummy worms. Sounds easy except they had to sit on their hands and dig in with their face!! It was a bit messy but VERY funny to watch! The next night we played “baby food roulette”! We had a bag of the yuckiest baby food flavors I could find. The youth passed around a lemon while music played and whoever had the lemon when the music stopped had to pull a jar from the bag and eat a spoonful! There were a couple that ran out the door after getting it in their mouth!!
Pastor Steve spoke to the group a few times over the weekend about our relationship with God. He focused on how we shouldn’t wait until we’re older to develop that relationship. He also talked about priorities and idols. A time was given in silent prayer to allow the youth to make a decision to ask God to be their savior or to rededicate their life if they’d gotten off track.
